"A drop of prevention is worth a bucketload of cure"

SEASONAL "YANGSHENG" WORKSHOPS

Yangsheng literally means "nourishing life". It's a core concept in classical Chinese philosophy and medicine and encourages ways of living that support health, longevity, vitaliity and balance - physically, mentally and spiritually.

Rather than treating illness after it appears, yangsheng focuses on prevention, cultivation of qi, yin-yang balance and harmonising with nature and the seasons.

Common yangsheng practices include eating seasonally, gentle movement such as qi gong, breathwork and meditation, seeking emotional balance, ensuring plenty of rest, and daily practices to care for the body such as self-acupressure, gua sha, body-brushing and seasonal skincare.

Yangsheng workshops are thoughtfully created to invite alignment with the energy of the season, connection with nature and each other, and space to slow down.

I hope that by harmonising with the seasons, we not only nourish ourselves, but that we are moved to support the natural world and all its inhabitants in whatever ways we can.

SPIRIT OF THE ELEMENTS CPD SERIES

Sept 2026 - June 2027

The Yoga Garden, Knepp Rewilding Estate, West Sussex

A deep dive into the resonances and qualities of each of the five elements (wu xing) in its own season with nature as our teacher. We also include an emphasis on the lesser known model of the five spirits (wu shen); an ancient Chinese framework for understanding aspects of the psyche.

I love offering acupuncture, qigong and Taoist theory sessions for fellow retreat and workshop providers. Please get in touch if you would like to add a touch of ancient Chinese wisdom and practice to your event.
